Our second day in Madrid began with a tour of the old town of Madrid. We visited a beautiful cathedral next to the old royal palace, the oldest restaurant in the world, the oldest street in spain, Mercado de San Miguel, the Plaza Mayor, and ended in Puerta Del Sol.

After the tour we had free time for the rest of day. This day was especially exiting because we were able to meet up with my brother and his friend who are backpacking throughout Europe for a few weeks. We met up with them and they took us to a restaurant for tapas and then to Parque de Madrid. In the park we took many pictures by a pond with paddle boats, fountains, and a glass palace. After the park we found a famous chocolateria where we ate churros with hot chocolate.

I then split off from the group and went with my brother, his friend, and a girl from Canada they met in their hostel to the bull fight. The bul fight that we went to was actually with Amateur Matadors and 4 year old bulls which is different from the normal Sunday bull fights. This was available due to a month long celebration where there are bull fights every night. I learned a lot about the significance and reason for bull fights, but didn't necessary enjoy the bulls getting killed. It was definitely a great experience though!
